The construction of the nuclear power plant in Kurchatov will be a second wind for industry and infrastructure of Kurchatov and Shimei.Akim Dmitry Garikov made this statement today. He noted that that was an opportunity for Shimei and Kurchatovto run building plants at full capacity: Cement and silicate, which were built with the work on the nuclear industryin the past.

We have water reserves, we have the ideal seismic and one of the main aspects is that we have scientists,because nowhere in Kazakhstan there is no cluster of nuclear power, as in Kurchatov. And today in Kurchatov, there is a storage that stores nuclear fuel that was receivedon the Aktau nuclear power plant.And this is another plus in the construction of the nuclear power plant that there is no need to carry anywhere, all can be stored on the lands of the polygon.

Until November 15, the special commission mustdetermine the location of the nuclear power plant. Meanwhile, three settlements have been recognized as the most suitable for the placement of the “peaceful atom”: Kurchatovin eastern Kazakhstan, Aktau city, the center of Mangistau region, as well as Ulken village on the coast of Lake Balkhash.
