In Anapa completed the installation and put into operation a system of solar panels at the railway station of the city. This takes into account the work of all systems - lighting, air conditioning, ventilation, bulletin boards, and various services, said a company representative. The project was implemented within the framework of the investment program, "The introduction of resource-saving technologies in rail transport."

On the roof of the station placed 560 solar modules with total capacity of 70 kW. The investment amounted to about 13 million rubles (400,000 USD), and the approximate lifetime of solar cells - 20 years. As noted in the Railways, their use will allow the station to save on electricity 1.6 million rubles (50,000 USD) per year.

In addition, the system is equipped with batteries that will operate autonomously train station at night for 3-4 hours. Moreover, if only to use the basic services such as ticket offices, fire and security systems, electric power will be enough for a day.

"Railway station will consume just 40-50 kW, therefore addressed the issue of transfer of surplus power generated by the system in a network", - said the representative of the company.

Now at the Anapa railway station started the implementation of wind turbines, which will give another 50 kW of electric power gratis. The combination of solar panels and wind turbines will make the station is completely independent of external power supplies, and at night, the developers believe the project.
"This system of solar panels will also be introduced at the station in Adler, which is now undergoing renovation in preparation for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi," - said the representative of the Railways.

Station in Anapa was the first (and so far the only) of the so-called "smart" terminals. In the summer of 2010, Vice-President of RZD Valentine Gapanovich said that the project is to equip stations with the latest energy-saving technologies can be financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). "We have the EBRD signed a memorandum of understanding. We need to get funding for environmental projects related to the "smart" stations - said while V.Gapanovich, stating that funding for the project can be up to 50 million euros. These investments will be focused on projects for stations in Adler, Murmansk and Anapa.

The draft of "smart" stations incorporated the latest energy saving technologies: solar powered, LED technology, air conditioning through the use of sea power, etc.
