Stone monoliths, looking like famous Egyptian Sphinx, found the participants of international seminar “Ancient sanctuary Ak-Baur: hypotheses and researches”.

“These stone statues are of great interest, - says Galina Peteneva, researcher. – Perhaps these are the objects of culture, which is unknown to us”.

By the way, there were three types of sphinx in Egypt: a classical statue with a human face and a lion’s body, also with the head of falcon and sheep. Sphinx, which was found by the participants of the seminar looks like the lion with the head of monkey, writes “Express K”.

Leonid Marsadolov, the researcher of Department of the Hermitage archeology, in this context recalled the poet Eugene Kurdakov, who found a lot of stone objects in the East Kazakhstan region.
