By the order of the Head of State on September 1 of this academic year in the first-graders of secondary education schools of the Republic, it will be introduced the five-day school week. First-graders will learn from 1 September until 1 June.

The transition to the five-day education is related with the updated educational program. New educational programs, as it mentioned before, will be based on the programs of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. Educational programs will be developed on the basis of functional literacy development in accordance with the best world practices.

The Ministry for the moment is considering the possibility of acceleration of transition of all school classes to the five-day educational weeks. However, to solve these issues, it is necessary carry out the calculations on the updating of content of the educational programs on faster graphics and consider the issue of schools with the three-shift education.
