Scientists from the fundamental sciences of South Korea have developed a patch for diabetic patients, which monitoring blood glucose levels and inject itself the sugar-lowering drug if necessary.
Unusual device is a polymeric adhesive with sensors of sweat glucose, acidity and tremor, which allow controlling the increase or decrease glucose level in the content of blood serum in comparison with the norm.
The patch is also includes microscopic needles, filled with metformin – a sugar-lowering drug, which is used in the treatment of diabetes.
After applying the device to the skin, it is collects the necessary amount of perspiration and analyzes its biotechnical parameters.
If deviations are detected, the patient is given the injection of metformin.
The sensors are made of grapheme with small inclusions of gold to improve the electrochemical properties.
The sensors have a high conductivity, sufficient reliability and optical transparency.
The patch is connected to your phone wirelessly in order for the program to calculate the correct dose of medicine based on the sensor readings.
