Kazakh researchers now have access to SciVerse Scopus, The largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.

Kazakh researchers now have access to SciVerse Scopus through the National License Agreement between Elsevier--largest service provider in the field--and Kazakh “National Center for Scientific and Technical Information”, which have been signed in Almaty.
From now on, the researchers will be able to receive the most advanced and archival information firsthand. In addition, now they have better chances to publish their papers in best scientific journals.

“Almost one and half a billion tenge were allocated to buy access to international scientific and technical information resources through global corporations with such providers as Elsevier and Thomson Reuters,” said the president of “National Centre for Scientific and Technical Information” Adil Ibraev.

CEO of Reed Elsevier Mr. Yongsuk Chi is convinced that with the support provided by the State, Kazakhstan science has a great future. “I think that our beneficial cooperation will help your researchers to achieve the goals set out in the long-term Strategy “Kazakhstan 2050”, will help the development of science and innovative technologies”, he said.

Elsevier publishes more than 2,500 academic journals per year, containing about 250,000 articles. The archives of the publishing house have about seven million publications with more than 240 million articles downloaded annually.
