The symbol of Expo-2017 will be the largest building in the world in terms of a sphere.

A partner of Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture Robert Forest announced this in an interview to the Kazinform correspondent.

“The central building, the symbol of Expo 2017 exhibition complexwill be the largestbuilding in the world in the form of spheres.This will be the pavilion of Kazakhstan, the diameter of the 3-storey building is 150 m. “The total area of the spherical structure makes 24 thousand square meters.” - said R.Forest.

According to him, after the end of the Expo 2017Kazakhstani pavilion will remain as a place of demonstrations, new ideas and achievements of the countryhosting the international exhibition.

Let us recall that today the American company Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture has been announced as the winner of the international architectural competition for the best design idea of the EXPO 2017exhibition complex.

The total area of the proposed facility is 173.4hectares, 25 ones of which are used for the most fairgrounds and in the territory of 148 hectares will be located housing projects, social and cultural facilities, education and health, shopping centers, parks and boulevards.Approximate area of the pavilions will be 118,620 sq. m, service areas - 95 400 sq. m, housing - 58 6465 sq.m.The construction of Expo town is planned in theEsilarea of the capital, in the square of streets and prospects of KabanbaiBatyr Hussein Bin Talal, Orynbor and Ryskulov.
