The technology of electrochemical refining of crude indium was developed by scientists of “Center of physical and chemical methods of research and analysis” KazNU named after Al-Farabi. Project manager – PhD, Professor M.K. Nauryzbayev.

The scientists have improved the technology, optimizing the key design parameters of electrolysis and the conditions of metal cleaning processes. During the experiment, it was held the research on electrolyte concentration, pH solution, current density and temperature on the process of electrolysis in created electrochemical system and established the purity of the deposited indium. Indium is one of the main components of LCD panel production, solar cells and microelectronics.
