The scientists of Kazakh National Medical University named after S.Asfendiyarov assessed the hepatotropic effect of pharmaceuticals on the culture of liver cells of laboratory rats. The aim of the work is to create test-system for the identification of level of toxicity of domestic pharmaceuticals. The head of the project is Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor I.R.Kulmagambetov.
Test allows checking the biotransformation of substances, pharmacological drugs, hepatotoxic properties, violations of specific functions of hepatocytes, caused by the metabolic effects on the target cells. In the framework of project, it was worked out the methodic of culturing hepatocytes of laboratory rats. The method was adopted to the conditions of cell cultures of hepatocytes, which were used in order to determine the level of toxicity of pharmaceuticals. The obtained cells were maintained in primary culture for three months, with the addition of growth factor, antibiotics, based on the concentration of cells in the cultural cup.
